I am a Professor of Political Science, with a focus on democratic political systems, at the Institute for Social Sciences at Kiel University, Germany.
My current research mainly focuses on the role of legislatures for democratic consolidation and the influence of legislative organization on public opinion and opposition behavior.
My research has been published or is forthcoming, amongst others, in the American Political Science Review, the European Journal of Political Research, Democratization, the International Journal of Human Rights, the Journal of Legislative Studies, and West European Politics.
